Carlos Saiz

Carlos Saiz began filming family trips and a series of short films with his friends at the age of 15. After living in London, he returned to his hometown to shoot the music video Islamabad by Los Planetas, a self-portrait that won him a scholarship to the EFTI film school in Madrid. As a final project he shot the short film La Hoguera, which won several prizes and was selected for festivals such as San Sebastian and Clermont-Ferrand. His latest short film, Muerte Murciélago (2021), selected at Malaga, Zinebi and Slamdance, is a candidate for the Goya Awards 2023. He is currently working on his first feature film Lionel, awarded as a project in development at Ventana CineMad 2022.
